<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH6ETXcDjUTF8naNs5LrILzFgd_V_sM9K0Bn4A8JD5eSedW7F5gYiczCyDg14Q_H7NScOREnUO6ExmLQ99_mMbScbYskSHfTn9ehpMOr95EScjbUaaW4l7cmdAXM4w-bEow46um7zkpvk/s1600/couch+before+and+after+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH6ETXcDjUTF8naNs5LrILzFgd_V_sM9K0Bn4A8JD5eSedW7F5gYiczCyDg14Q_H7NScOREnUO6ExmLQ99_mMbScbYskSHfTn9ehpMOr95EScjbUaaW4l7cmdAXM4w-bEow46um7zkpvk/s320/couch+before+and+after+4.JPG" /></a></div>Here is the before photo - we did have it in our sun room in our home - but I replaced it a few years ago with leather so we took it to the Rivah...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ1cyORiw7Dbe0HNPaecdndnfUf4mFZGnzlSZ9iUXkvSS9W4bzQwbTerYA5srV0HgSXlMJmkH8Yh4n0TM3EgslSLXZiMLMaFy_tF1OLEyMueKa0ygqDbN2DA4Ym5YBRpEBFy7I_rZKS_M/s1600/couch+before+and+after+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ1cyORiw7Dbe0HNPaecdndnfUf4mFZGnzlSZ9iUXkvSS9W4bzQwbTerYA5srV0HgSXlMJmkH8Yh4n0TM3EgslSLXZiMLMaFy_tF1OLEyMueKa0ygqDbN2DA4Ym5YBRpEBFy7I_rZKS_M/s320/couch+before+and+after+2.JPG" /></a></div>Here is the after -- I used "porch" from <a href="http://www.mainecottage.com/">Maine Cottage</a> - they sell some of their colors in spray cans - I found the fabric at Hancock Fabric..It has all the colors I am using in the House..the cushions I had gotten, once again from my son when he worked at the furniture factory..this is truly a sleeping couch now!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsPcENjcX-3zZmaFHgpX30_QwN4k61YPdu1-i1Ys_xQi-mNIdVfcseqJM_s1xQz0Jczjjs0ZrUEiuuplyfM-5m1Rtt5VgmmRxx87FJnySlVFGMxvOHHGk58Bcfm2oH2ND5cucCB3ftNY0/s1600/couch+before+and+after+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsPcENjcX-3zZmaFHgpX30_QwN4k61YPdu1-i1Ys_xQi-mNIdVfcseqJM_s1xQz0Jczjjs0ZrUEiuuplyfM-5m1Rtt5VgmmRxx87FJnySlVFGMxvOHHGk58Bcfm2oH2ND5cucCB3ftNY0/s320/couch+before+and+after+1.JPG" /></a></div>Notice in this shot - I am using a bench for a 'coffee table' - it just looked dull and not right SO......<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtQXd5jEU3Vbj-RcFCPF2Gz4d8uOTHMKxUSoDGF-Sl5RWTf5ZH22GGq2lvAHrk7V5RM8ksbZ0TLBeHeCl9BLJ4jqwfCGv2qtL_GARFZibNPpxu8qh7hJGTASfIvXWQDjj0EiLuk-8bUc/s1600/couch+before+and+after+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtQXd5jEU3Vbj-RcFCPF2Gz4d8uOTHMKxUSoDGF-Sl5RWTf5ZH22GGq2lvAHrk7V5RM8ksbZ0TLBeHeCl9BLJ4jqwfCGv2qtL_GARFZibNPpxu8qh7hJGTASfIvXWQDjj0EiLuk-8bUc/s320/couch+before+and+after+3.JPG" /></a></div>I had a bit of spray paint left so went ahead and painted it also - I did go back and 'distressed' it some, but didn't take close ups of that...Oh well.. That Floor is next...I'm thinking white ...or we may tile in there when we get the new windows in - Any ideas are welcome..<br />
<br />
I'm hooking up to a few different sites today to see what others are up to...<br />

<br />
My son worked at a furniture manufacturing plant for about 2 years and I was able to get a great couch from him last year. It is all upholstered and is a wonderful couch, possibly the most comfortable couch I have every owned... but I wanted it for the Rivah House and knew I would need to recover it to save the upholstery and to just give it a more cottage look...Here is the before picture<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYlUAegjZyTNM0mDT5bIU_BwO1jUGXEx6mvn99j3R1eeM2jg9rX4b8HBOx6NdsqWJpRHtSMqWctkBFdaUn96fqYo2DLoyoiY2peFmNth0VL08S10QYbfMSHuCOE4ET9pdyIPuo80AKcBw/s1600/Rivah+couch+before.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYlUAegjZyTNM0mDT5bIU_BwO1jUGXEx6mvn99j3R1eeM2jg9rX4b8HBOx6NdsqWJpRHtSMqWctkBFdaUn96fqYo2DLoyoiY2peFmNth0VL08S10QYbfMSHuCOE4ET9pdyIPuo80AKcBw/s320/Rivah+couch+before.JPG" /></a></div>Well - as I said I wanted to make it more of a cottage look - WELL - the fabric I used I also got from my son's work --I was able to get all of this for a VERY GOOD PRICE...I really wanted to go for white, but that is not what I had so here is the final result.....<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheb694iQZA25fpwEP6pBA94vzo3y1vDDnKndIEiXMMHC_NYHMEJ-CrXNw1V5IKhXURz0kWjuAUe32eVwLijqmNHdNRNSschVeUOnWp4z7IOH49fZA0vCDssTJK0ou1AuxdtMH5cJREek8/s1600/Rivah+couch+after+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheb694iQZA25fpwEP6pBA94vzo3y1vDDnKndIEiXMMHC_NYHMEJ-CrXNw1V5IKhXURz0kWjuAUe32eVwLijqmNHdNRNSschVeUOnWp4z7IOH49fZA0vCDssTJK0ou1AuxdtMH5cJREek8/s320/Rivah+couch+after+3.JPG" /></a></div>It's kind of fancy for the Rivah, but I'm not too worried about it - I'll just want to change it in due time anyway!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUmEk-Sa655Q5kizHF7DKnuBvwWPHd_zJvpr7L3c6Ds5ctnyJlNdnblcZ9a_1bAQuHdPp2TIQrZNpkIXt2fOMEr-CM3FKR-MPAHgcRnc4XATa_4JcEww8Eva3gGoZHCD7L5Mdmf55ZBSk/s1600/rivah+couch+after+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUmEk-Sa655Q5kizHF7DKnuBvwWPHd_zJvpr7L3c6Ds5ctnyJlNdnblcZ9a_1bAQuHdPp2TIQrZNpkIXt2fOMEr-CM3FKR-MPAHgcRnc4XATa_4JcEww8Eva3gGoZHCD7L5Mdmf55ZBSk/s320/rivah+couch+after+2.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdXYaPNDIJX9Pq1a_JolrA1KvMbmhLPVzXU5aogPPitdvF_bcN6hqLl1VDst8Fi9b9knAEPI7EhPC1_gbUafWLWoKi22kJIL4VDHE4QdjIr4c7ukg5-XCyuSaagjjJi1MtbCX6_sXCo6E/s1600/rivah+couch+after.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdXYaPNDIJX9Pq1a_JolrA1KvMbmhLPVzXU5aogPPitdvF_bcN6hqLl1VDst8Fi9b9knAEPI7EhPC1_gbUafWLWoKi22kJIL4VDHE4QdjIr4c7ukg5-XCyuSaagjjJi1MtbCX6_sXCo6E/s320/rivah+couch+after.JPG" /></a></div>Try to ignore all the 'stuff' around...I'm busy you know - can't think of everything..<br />
<br />
Now if I could only convince my family to let me paint those dark walls - uggg..maybe one day they will see it my way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <br />
<br />
Hope you'll come back soon- got lots more to show you what I've been working on...<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>As I have said in a few other posts my husband has acquired his family cottage that has been in his family since 1953 - Well, it has been the same all these years and I felt it was time to make some changes and make it more of a summer/Rivah cottage. I decided to start in the kitchen..We didn't want to rip out and start from the walls so I just 'spruced' it up some..Hope you enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think..<br />
<br />
Here are the before pictures - kitchen is very dark, please excuse the mess I just wanted to get some pictures - I always forget to take the 'befores' <br />

I used CounterTop paint by Rust-oleum It really went on great and I think looks so much better than the black --<br />

<br />
WOW --- We have been road warriors the last week - with my husband's job we had to 'tour' the state of Florida - it's quite a large state :-)...Very beautiful in so many places, but we were on a very short time-frame so no time to stop and look around - So I dreamed of all those fabulous shops, flea markets etc from a distance..sniff, sniff!!!!!<br />
<br />
Well - tonight we had a chance to stop early and I had the opportunity to do some shopping at a bead store that happens to be close to our motel !!! Thought I'd show you what I saw AND what I bought...<br />
<br />
I LOVE BEADS....<br />

<br />
I love to take pictures but I'm not really great at it..So after looking at Kim and Harriets 'shots' I decided to look at my photographs through different eyes. It was fun to look for those shadows and I found some I'd like to share with you - but a bit of history first ...<br />
<br />
<br />
We had two labs - Jake and Dunker! In Febuary 2010 we had to put Jake down - he was 15 years old - he was a good ole dog..had a heart so big he would always welcome everyone with permission to pet him - endlessly!!! In February of 2009 we decided to get a puppy; we felt that maybe Jake would be around long enough to teach the puppy some manners!!! Into our family came Dunker - he is a joy, a pain (as puppies are) but we have fallen head over heals in love with him...Jake did teach him some very good manners. but at times Dunker forgets, but we continue to work with him so he will end up being a great dog just like Jake. SO in memory of Jake and in honor of Dunker here are some pictures I hope you enjoy....<br />
<br />
This was the first meeting - <br />

<br />
I'm a little late to the Slip Cover Party over at <a href="http://pinkandpolkadot.blogspot.com/">Pink and Poka Dot</a> but had to head over there to see what eveyone had done. I also went over to visit Angie at <a href="http://threadneedlestudio.com/?p=177?">Thread Needle Studio</a> she has some slip covers to show you too.<br />
<br />
My son works for a furniture manufacturer and gets some great furniture, but some of the time it is not upholstered - SO when he got a couch and chair he called and asked me to come and slip cover them. We did them together as he talked with the seamstress on the 'floor' and they showed him how they do it...My son did all the measuring - he is a engineer - and I cut and sewed the pieces..It was very easy once we got going and I think they turned out wonderfully...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO47SJlPdUp8nvlu5i_Tipv72mEvqLywr7HrYbOHP9PDcotEESWZdDmzy59SWdHjQ1jTIQuP2VnZ3tjhe-4DlLssW58XhvaE17exsdhY6SkPxII9SlNYfPtMYHJbgnn81B7PqHvaTb9Ew/s1600-h/adams+couch+and+chair.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO47SJlPdUp8nvlu5i_Tipv72mEvqLywr7HrYbOHP9PDcotEESWZdDmzy59SWdHjQ1jTIQuP2VnZ3tjhe-4DlLssW58XhvaE17exsdhY6SkPxII9SlNYfPtMYHJbgnn81B7PqHvaTb9Ew/s320/adams+couch+and+chair.JPG" /></a></div><br />
We actually took the fabric and used both sides - so the couch is actually darker than the chair.. I also made the pillow from some fabric I had gotten from his work...I have so much fun going there to look at fabrics etc..<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">At our Rivah house I want to be very thrifty and reuse all the fixtures and furniture that has been there for 'centuries'!!! So to begin I re-did some old chairs that needed an update..I don't have a before picture, but I'm sure you an imagine - they were just plain wood chairs - I know these type of chairs have a certain name, but I can't remember what it is - maybe some of you can!?!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had fun painting it - there are two of them and just the beginning of what has to be done at the Rivah house ...I have so much to do ..notice the floors - hummm..they certainly need to be done!!!! I love the distressed look, but even these may need a bit of an update!!</div>Brendahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14489472169712435591noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881584366935010203.post-42510996318452580442010-02-28T15:20:00.000-08:002010-03-14T12:28:16.924-07:00Elephant Quilt completed - FINALLY I'm sharing this post today with Somewhat Simple - <a href="http://www.somewhatsimple.com/2010/03/strut-your-stuff-thursday-with-eshakti.html">Strut Your Stuff Thursday</a><br />

<br />
It was just plain cement when they began - I wanted to use my acid for the concrete, but they live in Montana and when I went for a visit there was not enough time to order and do the work...SO..they went to a home show and found this product and decided to have the walkway redone..I think it is beautiful!!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I must say my Mother is truly my inspiration for all my creativity. She has always tried (and perfected ) so many different crafts throughout her life. She is 82 now and is still doing remarkable things - with that I want to share with you the fabulous beaded pictures she is currently 'into'...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I love poppies and when my Mother heard she painted me a picture (not shown) and then she found this canvass and did it all in beads....She has made numerous pictures - what you see here are the ones I have received<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg_U_ddi9vdXxB0NJrnrue_bGZYb55coMXRCC__uwAHNw4cu5qarh8Wjx_1mi9DNHl4KcHNAmJ-_8f-Q7j09msR9sQdiIY7bAogkO3up9PulSgO2rpM_m-pW_2Eh2OVVU7n0feYaVz2Og/s1600-h/beading+friday.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg_U_ddi9vdXxB0NJrnrue_bGZYb55coMXRCC__uwAHNw4cu5qarh8Wjx_1mi9DNHl4KcHNAmJ-_8f-Q7j09msR9sQdiIY7bAogkO3up9PulSgO2rpM_m-pW_2Eh2OVVU7n0feYaVz2Og/s400/beading+friday.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />

</div>This picture took 40,104 beads and took her 400 hours to complete - can you see the beads?? here let me get closer<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We just celebrated my Dad's 90th Birthday in December and my Mother decided that she should have gifts for her granddaughters and granddaughters in-law ..guess what that may be??? I'm really getting ready for summer to be here so we can sit around the table and watch the 'Rivah'Brendahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14489472169712435591noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881584366935010203.post-81302567020251695862010-02-24T07:53:00.000-08:002010-02-24T17:40:14.494-08:00I LOVE Quilting<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Have I mentioned this before??? I LOVE quilting - I decided today was the day to show you !!! This quilt I made for my son as a wedding gift. It has 2 1/2" squares throughout - whew...that took me forever to do...I had asked him to look at some of my quilting magazine/books to see what he might like in the event I could get one done for their wedding ;-)...I had already began working on this quilt and wanted to see if he would pick it..WELL - he did!!!! - but he said "I'd love this one but would never ask you to make something with this much work"...WOW - that was great since the work was already in progress! Guess he is my son!!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo-g_oUstqafPvyr6NgiViGX8F93WOqR7qbONV0EOYDGTuPcdd7xhSTz8b2OrX_mpUMlW5TDYx-1hgawScQ76o6R-AurhAxOk3rv1T8eHwD-11sFiX2QGaBacO7r6YDSCdnWzhYvg7T7c/s1600-h/wedding+quilt.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo-g_oUstqafPvyr6NgiViGX8F93WOqR7qbONV0EOYDGTuPcdd7xhSTz8b2OrX_mpUMlW5TDYx-1hgawScQ76o6R-AurhAxOk3rv1T8eHwD-11sFiX2QGaBacO7r6YDSCdnWzhYvg7T7c/s400/wedding+quilt.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Another quilt that they received for a wedding gift was made by my Grandmother - she made a quilt for all her Great Grandchildren before she died to be given to them when they married - It was very sweet when he opened that gift, because when he saw who it was from he was at first confused - and then emotional..Grandnanny would have loved the reaction and how much he appreciated her hard work and love. Behind Adam is his bride Aprill and she is looking at some hand towels that my Grandmother had also made. It was very special<br />

Someone asked me if my daughter knew what I was going to do while they were gone - WELL ...every summer for the past 3 years when they go on vacation I take over their home and 'do stuff'...They have an idea, but they give me full reign to do as I please - it makes it easier for me and it is so fun for them when they come home - kinda like being on one of those makeover shows on HGTV!! Well, maybe not quite the results, but hey - we all think it's fun!!!<br />
<br />
As I said before her carpets were very worn OUT - and we had to find a solution rather than re-carpet..So we pulled the carpet from the stairs first and tested my theory that Plywood could become Hard Wood - Isn't plywood hard???? and wood???? When we pulled the carpet the stairs were in pretty good shape - So I bought some porch paint and away I went and here is the result:<br />
<br />
I used a high gloss paint - they really are very shiny.. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrjIgFvkW3l5N1X1xKBJXG0cbUb7V4Ui1EJahKKrcZt_x5RXaz5oi7yuF1PBsBJHoz607Pcpg4yBa7oqV6lAifcE6LSgCXjz-G2Zw6u8ElUnYagEvPhoydep_kJ2Yz_nfiHbHcSRovQx0/s1600-h/C+and+C+Stair+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrjIgFvkW3l5N1X1xKBJXG0cbUb7V4Ui1EJahKKrcZt_x5RXaz5oi7yuF1PBsBJHoz607Pcpg4yBa7oqV6lAifcE6LSgCXjz-G2Zw6u8ElUnYagEvPhoydep_kJ2Yz_nfiHbHcSRovQx0/s320/C+and+C+Stair+1.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div>From here we thought we were in luck so why not pull ALL the carpet throughout the house and finish up!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UVaMxnHiP0_VOGjNVp3HDqDGX-pBnE-emF6YqccapuTWodB7ZQKlLrffpCIpevpSgOQpW9Zd9efhb5LJS_RJhuz4fmUuC2AliNPzRcuj-NLBfivQV09bp5S44EcoCM5TLB5dvN_SyjA/s1600-h/C+and+C+Hallway.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UVaMxnHiP0_VOGjNVp3HDqDGX-pBnE-emF6YqccapuTWodB7ZQKlLrffpCIpevpSgOQpW9Zd9efhb5LJS_RJhuz4fmUuC2AliNPzRcuj-NLBfivQV09bp5S44EcoCM5TLB5dvN_SyjA/s320/C+and+C+Hallway.JPG" /></a></div>So here is glimpse of the hallway (note the carpet NOT pulled from the first bedroom - you get the worn out carpet statement! ) From here we went into the boys' rooms - I did their floors and the walls -<br />

I once again did some research to see what I could do to the cement rather than her re-carpeting. I found a site for using acid concrete stain, <a href="http://www.directcolors.com/">Direct Colors</a>, and decided that was the way to go. When Carrie (daughter) and her family went on vacation I made myself at home and re-did the floors - it was quite an endeavor since the concrete had to be clean of all paint, dirt, etc - and if you have seen a concrete floor before they lay carpet you know what I mean. Here are a few photos of the process - I have enough of the acid left that I hope to do my garage floor this Spring..FUN!!!<br />
<br />
Here is the cleaning stage!! <br />

AND I agreed....I know our neighbors thought I was CRAZY when they would drive by and see me on rooftops, extension ladders etc...Last BUT not least - It took FOUR (4) coats to cover the green - YIKES..it took me all summer. I must admit I did have someone come and do the high parts on the ends - other than that I was the Painter - I was even out there painting on my birthday! But really - I kinda enjoyed it - the weather was fabulous most the time and I really got a chance to be outside and listen to birds and other creatures..It was quite an adventure...<br />

I was not fond of the red brick on our family room fireplace and decided to change it. After much research I found a product called <a href="http://www.brick-anew.com/">Brick Anew </a>...it was easy and fun to do - give it a try if you are looking to change your brick! Here are the before and after photos...<br />

One thing yet to do - I keep looking for an old mantle to add to the fireplace - one day I'll find the right one - I'll share that with you when I do...<br />
<br />
so what do you think??? Looking for the good the bad and the ugly (?) feedback... Any suggestions on the mantle? <br />
<br />

This photo was taken last April while we were in Florida. I love photography and wish I were better at it (this would be the 'ugly' part that I will work on)....My son is a great amateur photographer - I'll add some of his photos over time so you can see what I mean... I hope your day is filled with peace and joy and NOT so much CRAZINESS!!! Let's save that for another day :-)<br />
