At our Rivah house I want to be very thrifty and reuse all the fixtures and furniture that has been there for 'centuries'!!! So to begin I re-did some old chairs that needed an update..I don't have a before picture, but I'm sure you an imagine - they were just plain wood chairs - I know these type of chairs have a certain name, but I can't remember what it is - maybe some of you can!?!
I had fun painting it - there are two of them and just the beginning of what has to be done at the Rivah house ...I have so much to do ..notice the floors - hummm..they certainly need to be done!!!! I love the distressed look, but even these may need a bit of an update!!
I'm thinking they are called 'bistro chairs' and i'm thinking that i like what you've done with them! it's fun!

This style chair has been around forever. I remember having them in the lunchroom when I was in elementary school...eons ago! You have done a great job of bringing it into the 21st century with a cute and colorful makeover in one of my favorite color combinations...blue and green.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me. :)
Cute color combo!! Very springy!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on the chairs and although I can't see the entire floor, I LOVE how it looks. But sometimes things do look better in a picture rather than real life!!! Nice to meet ya and I look forward to seeing more crazy, crafty and creative stuff!! Judi
ReplyDeleteExcellent painted design!
ReplyDeleteHi! Cute chair! I think they might be called cane-back chairs.

Fun & Funky! It looks a little MacKenzie Childs style with the black & white stripes.
ReplyDeleteVery well done!
So whimsical...love it! I have always called these ice cream parlor chairs..lol. I doubt that is their name though. And, I rather like the distressed floor. :-)
